Don Hasenmayer

Donald I. Hasenmayer’s professional career began in 1944, when the 17-year-old infielder played in the Phillies minor league system. He made his major league debut in Philadelphia in May 1945, appearing in five games before entering military service with the Navy in October of that year.

 

 Hasenmayer served aboard the newly commissioned carrier USS Kearsarge. He returned to the Phillies for six games that year and played in the minors until 1951. Hasenmayer returned to his home in Roslyn, Pennsylvania, and joined his father’s plastering business.

 

He retired in 1992 and passed away on January 28, 2020..
